How to Prep for the Holiday’s

We are in the midst of the Holiday season, you, like me, probably just finished putting away your fall decor and pulled out ornaments and lights to decorate your home for Christmas.

Even in the midst of this covid season you probably have family or friends stopping by your home, from hosting dinners, to guests sleeping in different rooms of your house, how can you keep sane while also keeping your house festive and organized during the holidays?

Here are my favorite home decor and organization finds to make it through hosting family during the Holiday’s

Self-Serve Coffee Area

This is one of my favorite things to have set out on my counter – a self-serve coffee area. At least in my family, we need coffee at all times of the day, and I want to make it as easy as possible for everyone to make their own cup. I set out K-cups in a jar, syrups, and mugs so all you have to do is turn on the coffee pot and you’re ready to go! If you don’t have a Keurig, I LOVE these canisters for coffee beans, they’re stylish and practical!

Charcuterie Boards for Grazing

This has nothing to do with decor – though a pretty board can be repurposed as decor around your home – but the last thing I want or need is for people to be looking around the kitchen for snacks while we are prepping a big meal. If you have a large kitchen this may not be a bother for you, but my kitchen is small and my patience when i’m cooking over a hot stove with the oven on, is very small. So, to keep the peace and satisfy the grazers in my family I love prepping a charcuterie board to put out before a meal. Pinterest is your friend on what cheese you should buy, but these boards from Amazon are your best friend in making you look like a charcuterie pro!

Guest Bathroom Essentials

There is NOTHING worse than getting to your destination and realizing you forgot all of the essentials – toothpaste, contact solution, shampoo, etc. Take the stress out of your guests stay by creating a cute basket in the guest bathroom (or guest bedroom). I grab the essentials from the travel section at Target – toothbrushes, tooth paste, lotion, shampoo and conditioner, face wash, body wash, floss, and razors (add whatever else you think your guests will need). Find a basket that fits your design style or channel your inner Home Edit and grab a cute acrylic organizer!

The vacuum we all need

There is nothing I want more than to not have to worry about clean floors when I have company, yet I find myself constantly sweeping. So, this cyber Monday and holiday sale season, grab one of these little vacuums to do the hard work for you.

You’ve Got This!

The holiday and family time can be stressful, but it doesn’t have to be! Take a few minutes at the end of the day take a few deep breaths after your guests have gone to bed. Your home doesn’t have to be perfect, spacious, or trendy to be the host or hostess pro this year. Just keep some essentials on hand, snacks and drinks in easy to grab places, and enjoy a few days spent with family to close out this wild 2020 year!

Best wishes this Holiday season,
